6 Minutes of Latin Mass Lent
“If you want a church full of Catholics who know their faith, love their faith and practice their faith, give them a liturgy that is demanding, profound and rigorous. They will rise to the challenge.”
12 years ago we went on a field trip.
A history trip.
To honor our faith's rich history...to see the Mass the way most saints did...the way it had been celebrated for so long before these last 50+ years...and we fell in love with the Traditional Latin Mass.
The Mass of Ages is reverent and the prayers to read, and follow along with in the missal, are poetic and catechizing. In a noisy world, it has become our place to find silence and peace.
Pope Benedict XVI issued the Motu Proprio saying,“What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful.”
Those words STILL challenge us all. Lent is about challenge and rigor. There's still time for a profound field trip, a Lenten pilgrimage!
