The Knitting Lesson and Homeschool Art
The saying goes...Art mimics life.
We are trying to learn to knit here and YouTube is helping....not just with instructional videos.
Today, I found a great resource for art lectures on YouTube and look forward to perusing more from Clark Art Institute.
One thing leads to another...I went in search of Knitting quotes and enjoyed these:
“In the nineteeth century, knitting was prescribed to women as a cure for nervousness and hysteria. Many new knitters find this sort of hard to believe because, until you get good at it, knitting seems to cause those ailments. The twitch above my right eye will disappear with knitting practice.” ― Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much
“Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit either.” ― Elizabeth Zimmermann
~ Maggie DeCuir
"Knitting, tying knots on sticks, like love, can be restful, careless, compulsive, hell-bent " - Adrian Koesters
