”You miss 100% of the shots you never take.” - Wayne Gretzky

There's a new kid in Hockey town...
After watching his brothers at their games, our youngest son has decided he can fit a hockey team into his life now that baseball is over and golf is flexible.

A mom mentions this casually in an email to her husband, to catch him up on life while he travels on business in Singapore. Crazy hockey husband sends an email across the world to the manager of the rink asking to insert said son into a team mid-season.
It is done. Like he was with baseball, he wakes up the morning of the game thinking of little else. Putting on the necessaries early, packing his bag early, talking logistics...when things happen. Brothers suit him up, buy him a mouth guard, loan him pants and coach him onto his first game.

Of course, he luvs it. It's in his veins.

Tonight, he leaves for his 2nd game and yells back over his shoulder, "I'll call you if I score one," to his oldest brother.

The new guy is our hero. He's part of the team. It's fun to watch someone dive into new things, it makes us all braver...and prouder.

Does this mean that you'll be living at the rink?? Great photos!

You hit the nail on the head, Laura. Three consecutive nights a week....sigh...but it won't last forever and the boys need this outlet over the summer.

Thanks for the kind words!
