poor little hungry raccoon, but they are not a friendly animal! you captured some great pics of him. It reminded me of our own experience in our backyard a couple years ago. It was dark and we heard some noises out back. we opened the door and turned on the outside light to see a mother raccoon on top of our bird feeder (balancing herself precariously -- i don't know how she did it) and she was scooping bird feed down onto the grass where her SIX raccoon babies surrounded the bird feeder with their mouths open. unbelievable!
We had a lot of racoons around where I lived as a kid, but they were all fat and sort of cute, despite their being racoons. That one looks very hungry!
I always liked raccoons and thought them cute. Until we caught one in a live trap in Charlotte (we had a bunch of feral cats hanging about and making a nuisance of themselves). The raccoon we caught tried to attack the Animal Control guy through the cage, screaming and throwing himself against the cage. I'll tell you, he was scary, and he may very well have been rabid.
WELCOME TO THIS PHOTO - JOURNAL celebrating the traditional, Roman Catholic faith ... in words and images. I believe that Catholicism & The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass are the GOOD, the TRUE and the BEAUTIFUL in this life. With my camera and my words, what better f o c u s could I share on this blog? The first post appeared in May of 2007, when I started homeschooling my 4. In 2011, this blog was the reason we traveled to Rome, to participate in the VATICAN BLOGGERS MEETING, where my goal to promote Catholic social media began. Today, 2 of my homeschoolers have graduated and study at/graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville. It is so encouraging to have this online community, to know you are out there and to share what we learn with each other. May we do so, AMDG, for the glory of God and all for Jesus, Mary & Joseph. Totus Tuus! +JMJ+

Cute but naughty. I do not like it either when those cute little bandit faces munch down all my birdy seed!
