Want to join me on Fridays? Copy my Movie Marquee and link back to me and we'll share some of our Favorite Films on Fridays.

For today's entry, this isn't the stuff you study in film school....

This favorite film of mine is what makes me laugh myself to sleep at nights just remembering it.

And so, please watch this clip from Talladega Nights...

"Use your witchcraft on me Tom Cruise, help me Oprah Win-eh-free!"

I promise to get more serious next time. I actually have a degree in Film.

Did you go to film school? I was at NYU, at Tisch, in 1982-83...So funny, back then I couldn't get through a week without seeing several films, and now? I haven't been inside a movie theatre since taking the kids to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe...

Glad you liked it Patty. I think there's room to laugh at the silly and still appreciate the great, right?

Nadja...now you really have a film degree! Are you sure you have your dates right? You seem much younger than me. I did have a film major and graduated college in 87. Movies, movies, movies...yes, I used to watch them all the time and had seen all the oscar contenders before the ceremony. DOn't have that kind of time or desire anymore. But my children love movie night and so we are watching more...using the ClearPlay DVD to edit out undesirable stuff. It's amazing how the movie can still stand up without the sleeze.

My kids loved Narnia too and my littles, 5 & 8 listened to the audio book all summer, entranced.

I'd REALLY love to see your favorite films list, Nadja.

Have a great weekend, friends!

I've never heard of "clearplay", I'll have to check that out. Now that my kids are getting a little older, I keep adding to the list of movies I think they should see...then I remember the cringe-worthy parts of otherwise perfectly wonderful movies. My hubs and I used to watch three movies a weekend, back in the we-didn't-have-any-money dating days (his mom would record tons of movies every weekend). I just saw The Lovely Bones with my daughter this weekend. It was actually pretty good. She had a lot of interesting insight into it. She's turning into a movie buff and watches tons of TCM. It's neat to check out the IMDB of all those old movie stars!
