Buried My Nana on All Souls Day

Heartbroken.

Lump in my throat.

The tears still come even though I know I haven't replenished my fluids enough. Then at times I do feel dry and like a hammer has hit my face. Weak and empty.

Hugging lots, grateful to see distant relatives and feel the love of family & friends.

My Nana was sooooo special to me, to us all.

Want to kiss her soft, cool cheek again and feel the squeeze of her hand.

Time is in some weird place now as I travel through grief not feeling a part of the "outside world." Living in her house, without her, painful. My poor mother with so much on her shoulders.

Praying for my Nana...

May her vision be the beatific one.

Oh, JMJ, I'm so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers as well as your nana.

What a special day to be buried.

My little brother died on All Souls day, although, he was a Saint, only 2 months old. (28 years ago)

Oh Allison, think of all the prayers sent up on All Souls Day and your Nana got to a recepient. I know this does not ease the emptiness, but thankfully we know this is not the best He has to offer.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Heartbreaking, indeed. I think it is so beautiful that you had so many years with her and that your kids knew her. I still miss my grandma, and she passed away when I was 13. I would love to talk to her now. I think about her a lot. One day. That is the beauty of our faith. We will be united together again in Heaven. Take care, JMJ, and God bless you and your entire family during this time. Cling to the Lord, Our Lady and one another.

Dearest Allison...prayers for you and your family. How lovely that your memories are still so fresh...though painful, their beauty will sustain you and keep her ever alive in your heart until you meet her again in eternity.

I will especially remember her during Adoration tomorrow evening, and will lift up all your intentions as well.

God bless you, give you peace, joy and comfort...
