Final Summer birthday ~ Feast of St. John Chrysostom

My son, the golfer, enjoyed this cake idea of his sister's. She thought to put the golf ball atop his cake and we penned "Happy 8th Birthday" on it!

On Sunday, the feast of St. John Chrysostom, our youngest son enjoyed a golfer's birthday. He asked for and received a chipping net and new golf glove.

After swimming at my parent's house, we had his birthday dinner and each of us took a moment to remark on why we love him and how we have noticed that he has grown this year. The tributes were so touching between siblings.

On Monday, after his 1st day of school, his Dad took him out for 18 holes. We were also able to finally get him a medal of his Feast Saint and Doctor of the Church. For years, we've been searching the internet for this medal and a dear friend who owns our local Catholic store finally found a link. As a bonus, we were able to have it engraved! Great website and service, and what a keepsake!

St. John, "golden-mouthed", pray and intercede for our son.

Happy birthday and many many many more!!
On the medal front, I found my oldest boys' St. medal at the Divine Mercy shrine, but felt it a bit on the pricey side and skipped buying it (I regret it now). St. Isadore of Seville. BUT, I know one exists so maybe I can track it down quite easily. I'm sure I can, in fact.

God bless!
