Morally Ugly

BISHOP FULTON J. SHEEN said

Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it.
It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin.
The cry for tolerance never induces it to quench its hatred of the evil philosophies that have entered into contest with the Truth.
It forgives the sinner, and it hates the sin; it is unmerciful to the error in his mind.
The sinner it will always take back into the bosom of the Mystical Body;
but his lie will never be taken into the treasury of His Wisdom.
Real love involves real hatred:
whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the buyers and sellers from the temples
has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth.

Charity, then, is not a mild philosophy of "live and let live";
it is not a species of sloppy sentiment.
Charity is the infusion of the Spirit of God,
which makes us love the beautiful and hate the morally ugly.

I cried watching this 82 year old Priest get arrested.

All I can say is May God Have Mercy on us! (with tears in my eyes!)

I cried too! How can they! What message does this send as Catholics? God have Mercy on us because we are in for a rough ride :(

I cried and my heart broke as I watched the video of Father being arrested. Unfortunately, the Catholic identity of ND left long ago. Have you heard the video of the Valedictorian the other day? She has NO clue about being Catholic and why abortion is so wrong for us (I don't know if she's Catholic or not, but she totally doesn't understand why it's heartbreaking watching ND allow Obama to be there) And seeing Obama get so much support from the students and their family gives the impression that being "Catholic" now is just a fun and cool label when you need it rather than it being something to which you humbly live your life.

Beautiful quote...exceptionally sad video. There is simply no understanding of this issue among the "open minded"...
God Have Mercy on us.

With tears in my eyes also, I have purposely been not listening to anything about the whole situation, because it just makes me sick to my stomach. It's just a ugly world, like your title, the perfect title.

What makes me so angry about this whole thing is those young people have no idea what they are really supporting. They have no clue what Planned Parenthood is really all about, the consequences, the reality of it all, because the liberal media and government twist everything around, making "choice" seem like a good thing. I got so angry after watching that video because, as a woman who had an abortion as a teenager, it angers me that they stand out there "supporting" something they don't understand. Because if they did, they would be helping that 82 year old priest instead. :-(
