Want to Know More About the Seven Archangels?

Want to know more about the 7 Archangels? We did. We found this wonderful LINK with descriptions and prayers. (Go to link to read about all 7.)

The names of the Seven Archangels
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael,
Uriel, Jehudiel,
Sealtiel and Barachiel.

My daughter and I especially liked this image of St. Gabriel and I felt drawn to him for his intercession as a communicator.

Prayers to St. Gabriel the Archangel

Heavenly Father,
through the salutation of the
Archangel Gabriel,
may we honor the
Incarnation of Your Divine Son.

Through his faithful intercessions
may we strive always to imitate
the holy virtues of the
Mother of our Savior
and respond to our Father,

"Be it done unto me according to Thy Word".

Archangel Gabriel,
please praise our  Father for the gift of His Son,
praying, one day by His grace, through His Mother,
we may all be one fold,
one Church,
one Shepherd.
Amen
~ adapted from the chaplet of St. Gabriel

TODAY is a perfect day to ask for prayers from those before the Throne of God. There are Archangels to pray for intercessory help with Marriage, for Priests, for Mercy and more...DEO GRATIAS!

UPDATE -   EWTN "The Sacred Scriptures have revealed the proper names of only three Angels, all of whom belong to the Choir of the Archangels. The names are well known to all, namely: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael. Ancient apocryphal literature of the Old Testament contains several other names of Archangels in addition to the three just mentioned. Like the sources themselves, these other names are spurious. Names like Uriel, Raguel, Sariel, and Jeremiel are not found in the canonical books of Sacred Scripture, but in the apocryphal book of Enoch, fourth book of Esdras,[1] and in rabbinical literature. The Church does not permit proper names of Angels that are not found in the canonical books of the Bible. All such names that were taken from apocryphal writings were rejected under Pope Zachary, in 745. There must have been danger of serious abuses in this regard during that century, because a similar step was taken in a synod held at Aix-la-Chapelle in 789."
