Decorating the Church and Our Hearts, Too

Today, after Mass, we helped decorate the Church for Christmas.

It was like decorating our hearts, too.

It was a joyful occasion with many of our parish families and their children, young and old, assisting. What an experience for them! Being a part of decorating the altar to celebrate the birth of our Savior, the awe, the wonder, the excitement....it was palpable in their exuberance. I hope they always remember the privilege, the community feeling of this 4th Sunday in Advent.

My daughter is holding a photo of how the side altars were decorated in years past. Such clever and organized ideas from the family that led this project! The kids were able to participate and feel confident in how to help.

Christmas Eve is upon us and through Mary Christ comes to us.  Through the Mass He is made *present* again. Received into our hearts again, I pray.

Ready to celebrate, at Mass and with loved ones. All the best and blessings to you and yours.

Allison-
Great post! What wonderful pictures.
especially love the aspect of decoarting our hearts. How true. Thanks for revealing that. one of those things that you"feel" but then when it's expressed, it's an "aha" moment...THAT'S exactly how we feel at certain times in community with our parish too.... Thanks for sharing the photos of your lovely family too ...Esp love the one of your whole family at home ( not in this post)
Will see you online Allison,..tho I won't be around too much this week given our family Chrsitmas activites. Will still look fwd to your posts.
