An Elegant Tea
"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea." ~Henry James, The Portrait of a Lady
My dear friends and I met for tea today. It seems we all crave not just the delicious teas, sandwiches and scones, but also the setting.
"Tea is drunk to forget the din of the world." ~T'ien Yiheng
"When we sip tea, we are on our way to serenity.” ~ Alexandra Stoddard
Taking serene breaths, we soaked in the lovely, elegant setting. We conversed without children to worry about and yet we were there to celebrate their lives, making us mothers. Four of the ladies are pregnant and have our admiration for their openness to life. We toasted them.
The Tea warmed us, relaxed us.
“Come, let us have some tea and continue to talk about happy things.” ~Chaim Potok
"The spirit of the tea beverage is one of peace, comfort and refinement.” ~Arthur Gray
Thankful for my friends, the gift of life, sitters and husbands, time to talk...laugh and exhale.
And Tea.

O, I encourage all my readers to follow the link of the kind gentleman above. It is a lovely and informative read!
how fun! My oldest daughter and I went to our first real tea last week. It was at the English Tea Room in the next town over from where we live, for her friend's birthday party. It was a really great time! I want to go back again (without all the 5-7 year olds ;) and try out their food and some of their other teas. It was definitely a neat experience, and a new one for me. Glad you had some nice girl time =)
