Home Altar

11:45 PM
This is our home altar.
Recently, the Holy Father spoke about the need for silence in our hectic world. Starting the day here, in prayer, makes all the difference. The altar is filled with prayer cards, little prayer books, images of Jesus and Mary and Joseph and our other family favorite saints. Prayers are posted everywhere! Surrounding the walls of "the sacred room" are framed art of the Stations of the Cross. In another life, this was used as a make-up table. We put the double Prie Deux kneeler in front of it and it now serves a *much greater purpose*.... A quiet retreat. UPDATE: Below is how our prayer space looks now.

I love the altar. Especially how you've done it with the kneeler. I've wanted to get one of those for a while now. I'll have to look into getting a "double" for our altar!

I really like your home altar. You've inspired me to create one in my home.

Hi Allison!! This is wonderful!!! I hope I can find a little room in my house for this when we finally get our addition done! (We need a few more bedrooms and a dining room!) BTW: I'm a bit slow...I only just now figured out that you are the same Allison from here, Pinerest and Facebook!! I'll blame that on the business of life!! ;-) God bless!
